Description
Yuandu Liu Bao (2000s Vintage) represents a classic expression of aged Liu Bao tea, processed through the time-honored double-steamed and double-compressed technique. Its dry leaves are dark brown with a reddish sheen, glossy and firm to the touch, rolled with visible buds that signal its quality. A gentle fragrance of toasted rice grains rises from the leaves, promising warmth and depth. When infused, the liquor glows with a bright amber-red clarity. Years of natural storage have smoothed its edges, creating a tea that is both mellow and vibrant—full-bodied yet clean, richly layered yet refreshing. Early steeps highlight toasted and earthy tones, while later infusions reveal honey sweetness and a lingering aftertaste that comforts the palate. Highly infusible, it delivers complexity across many brews. In traditional Liu Bao classification, “Yuandu” (原度) refers to a high-grade standard of one bud with one to two leaves, a selection prized before large-scale production standardized leaf quality. This 2000s vintage reflects that heritage—a collector’s tea of authentic depth, elegance, and enduring charm.
